 The 7th Madagascar Workshop will be held at the University of Toronto, March 30-31, 2012.

This workshop aims to bring together anthropologists, historians and other scholars who share an interest in Madagascar and its diaspora, and to provide a forum for participants to share current research and ideas.

The two-day meeting will include formal presentations and informal discussion centered around thematic sessions. Participants are invited to present research on any topic related to the study of Malagasy society, language, and people. (For more information, please see the Call for Papers)

Update: We are pleased to announce that our keynote speaker will be Dr. Karen Middleton. 

A workshop dinner will take place on Friday evening, Mar. 30th.

There are no registration fees for participants. Participants will be expected to cover their own travel costs, however, limited funds may be available to help with lodging for speakers.

Potential participants should indicate their interest to Sarah Gould no later than January 6 and submit a provisional title and short abstract by January 31st. (Please email sarah.gould [at] utoronto [dot] ca )
