Arriving in TO

@ TORONTO ISLAND (city center airport)

Porter Airlines (and some Air Canada flights) now fly into Toronto Island (Toronto city centre), which brings you directly to downtown Toronto. (Map)

Taxi: U of T/ the Holiday Inn are a 10-20 minute (and approx. $10-20) taxi ride from the airport.

Public transportation: At Bathurst st, take the #511  streetcar North to Bloor St. At Bathurst station, transfer to the subway (Bloor line, east), take two stops to St. George Station.

PEARSON AIRPORT (YYZ):

Upon arrival at Pearson, you will see big signs directing you to the Taxi, TTC (Toronto Transit) or Hotel Express bus.

Taxi:  A taxi downtown is approximately $50 and will take approximately 30 min, depending on traffic.

TTC (bus/subway): Taking the TTC downtown is simple, convenient and costs $3.  The trip takes approximately 40- 60 min.  The bus stop is just outside the arrival doors on the median. Take the 192 Rocket (express) bus to Keele subway station and transfer to the Bloor-Danforth subway going east (this is the only option).  The St. George subway stop is steps from the Holiday Inn and a 5 minute walk to the conference location at U of T.

Express Bus:  The  Toronto Airport Express bus ($24) which goes from the airport to several other downtown hotel locations.

BY TRAIN:

Via Rail or the Go Train will bring you to Union Station in Toronto.  From there take the University line subway to the St. George station (to arrive at U of T or the Holiday Inn on Bloor St.).

GETTING AROUND TORONTO:

Downtown Toronto is easy to navigate by Subway and streetcar. Here is an interactive TTC subway map   (The U of T and Holiday Inn are closest to the St. George and Spadina stops.)
